One More Chance.

Can somebody help me?
For once, I will actually ask.
Hiding behind a fake smile,
no longer works.
It's not so easy anymore,
to pretend like everything is ok,
when my life is darkened,
by my very shadow.

You made me promises,
that you never kept.
You told me things,
that you didn't mean.

And I keep thinking,
that my life has no purpose.
Because you never say,
what I mean to you,
if you even can.
Death seems inviting,
as much as I fear it,
it's better than being here.

Filled with despair,
my heart withers in pain.
Because you don't show me,
that you care,
that you love,
that you want.
If you care.
If you love.
If you want.

So I assume,
that you don't care,
that you don't love,
that you don't want.

Being with you,
is becoming a missed memory.
A memory that may or may not
be relived.
Laughing with you,
no longer seems funny.
Loving you,
no longer seems possible.
As much as I hate saying that,
I refuse to lie to myself.
Again. And again.
Because my heart can't take anymore.
I've run out of needle and thread.
So I can no longer sew my heart,
after it gets torn apart.
One more piece, a small string of hope.
I'll give you one more chance.
One more try.
Just one.

To love me.
To want me.
To tell me.

Because I want to tell you that I love you.
