Hide and Seek.

My life is a constant game of hide and seek.

I hide from the world because I am afraid,
because I've been hurt so many times before.
Because I love to hide in the shadows,
where I am safe from sorrow and pain.
I hide from the world because no one notices,
when I'm gone, no one cares.
I hide from myself because I love what I've become,
but no one else does, no one cares.
I hide from the world because as I play,
no one else does, no one cares.
I play alone, in the shadows, waiting,
for someone to find me.
They have no desire to look...to seek,
they leave me wounded and hidden, alone.
When they decide to love me for what I am,
I believe they will come looking for me.
So I wait, hidden, for someone to find me,
someone to rescue me from my fate.
Someone to love me, and care for me,
someone who will never let me go,
someone who will never give up, and say
"come out, come out, where ever you are."
Because they will quit until they find me,
Until they love me, and care for me.
And ask me if I want to play Hide and Seek.
